I'm finding the film acting sessions with Joe extremely helpful, though not just for film, but for all kinds of acting. I have learnt the thought processes to begin applying choices as an actor regarding how the character feels during a speech. Without wanting to self evaluate too much, I do feel like I now understand how to intelligently deconstruct a script/screenplay/monologue and be able to talk about it freely and justify an opinion or a choice.
Also, I feel it has bought out the passion that we all have in the group for characters and their feelings, but ultimately for stories themselves, whether they be told via film, theatre, television etc.. Lastly, I think it's really helped the group in a more social way, not just by increasing our technical knowledge of character work, but by engaging us in deep discussions about characters of our own back, which is valuable to us as a group.
Sounds like great learning. Really looking forward to seeing all your pieces on film.
