I have enjoyed this unit more than others, simply because it has more involvement- I feel, with what I want to do in the industry after I finish my degree. I have learnt so much and know I will carry this information with me into my career as I believe it has helped a great deal. Learning the scripts and monologues was fun for me as I do enjoy learning lines, and challenging myself, especially with having one evening to learn a monologue. I feel I took on this challenge and look forward to having to do so in my career in the future.
I also feel it has focused the group more, and as George said added passion back into the class with doing what we love. Everyone has had good involvement with the classes, and I feel others enjoyed it as much as myself. We rose to the challenges Joe gave us, and I am very proud of the class as a whole. WELL DONE GUYS! :)
I have progressed and improved as the weeks have gone on, and enjoy being given direction and trying a scene in new ways. I loved working with the camera, as they don't phase me too much, love the limelight! It was great to learn all the camera tricks of how to hold your body and head when on camera. Also tips about how the casting directors and assistants can act in a casting and with practising this in our mock auditions it will help us prepare for things to come in the future. I have found things that I personally do when acting and am now learning how to either widen my range and learn more ways to expand on things I do, but I have also learnt I need to up my physicality more when doing a more exciting and demanding speech. The direction and notes I received were brilliant and so helpful! All things I have taken on board, made notes on and made sure I will remember, as this unit has helped with a great deal, with not only understanding screen acting, but also tips, tricks and methods to take into the industry with me, with auditions and work.
