Transmedia show poster
Hey guys,
I had a go on making a poster for our show! Let me know what you guys think. There are a few thing missing such us Northbrook logo and the QR code. P.s instead of having join us for the live recording I changed it to join us for the live show. Feel free to add or take stuff away, this is just an idea. :)

feedback for sharing
Hello all, well done, nicely managed show and well performed game.
some strong ideas but you have more time so here is some feedback/ challenges/ questions
- what is the point of showing the live filming? at the moment, not much happens when the cameras not on. is there another parallel story? is someone away sick from the crew for example and they track him down through social media? is there a presenters' other side/story?
- what is the point of the zuckenberg questions? what do we learn? might there be questions like how many pages long terms and conditions is? or that the new post people putting up to say i own copyright to my work on facebook is probably a hoax? Not sure what we have learnt from those questions.
- if you don't want to embarrass people with live revelations, what else can create that buzz and risk? i can see why it might be too risky to do it live and reveal actual information. plants in the audience? or get us to google ourselves? get volunteers during show? there probably be some willing to see what you can find out about them in the countdown time...
- is there space/ time for audience participation? for example something to make us think? such as is your password your name? is your password your pet? have you looked at privacy settings etc
- finally, a lot of performers not used. how can they best be part of the show? talk to audience more?
- much more confident performances from floor managers
- if radley always on phone off camera, can that be something that has a punchline or a story?
to summarise, some of the buzz we have had from the conversations is missing.
rethink questions of quizz show?
use more actors for story/ audience participation etc.
find clean ending; thank audience give them cards, something....

Last session of Transmedia show!
Hey guys,
Today we came together with ideas for the last bit of our Transmedia show, that will take place on the theatre bar. Once the audience leave the theatre they will the lead back to the theatre bar. Theatre bar will have info about the audience, there will be a phone in the middle of the room; sign saying income call only next to it. Info spread around the crisps. One of us will ring the phone and pretend to be from a bank or a company that we can use their info to get into their accounts ( this will show the risk of having to much info on the Internet)...Someone brings in a parcel, named after One of the audience. They will have to sign for it. Info about them inside it.
Hope this explanation is clear. Really looking forward to the performance day, I think as a group we're doing quite well on putting all the pieces together and make this show happen. Well done guys :)

transmedia
Hello all, a reminder to make sure you read unit 7 brief so that you are clear what you are being assessed on.
Also, after the show, this project has a part 2! You and production have the theatre again the following week Friday and Monday. You probably discussed this in the production meeting but my understanding is that production will have documentaries ready to show for then. You might share your websites on that show/ exhibition time.
Ideally i would like you to make a short documentary to be shown then too.
Maybe a day in the life of a transmedia artist? (could be a revisit of 50's George? or rhyming Radley)
Or, the devising process through actor's perspective. It needs to be informative but not necessarily serious.
or other ideas might be documentation and evaluation of performances. Audience feedback, an actor prepares, etc.... more ideas welcome.
Maybe this is a chance for people not performing, or who have had to be absent, or less involved to contribute further.
Those interested in film making please look at the alumni and ideastap sites. Lots of awards, and opportunities for documentary makers you might want to tie this into. We can discuss this further from tomorrow.
Focus of assessment will be a shared show grade and individual assessment based on your final presentations to take place on Thursday 13th December. In these presentations you will show your website in progress, discuss your learning and reflection of this project, evaluate the process and show and discuss related reading.
Looking forward to seeing where you are at tomorrow with first years.
Thanks

Phishy websites continued
I forgot to mention the below today so I don't even know if these are relevant now but I'll continue anyway.
Here is a fake ticket sales site:
http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/watch_out/Commonscams/ticketscams/details
The finacial Supervision Commision has bogeyed copied site, details below:
http://www.gov.im/lib/news/fsc/abacusfinancials1.xml
Info from the UK Border Agency on fake websites and callers posing as them:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/2012/august/13-genuine-website
It's annoying now, still can't find the one I was looking for.

Phishy websites!
I visited the Accidental Outlaw website and there is a simple online test which is quite quick to use. This could be incoporated in the performance at some stage.
There are 9 questions in total giving a multiple choice of illegal online acts:
1: Twitter
2: Facebook
3: Uploading
4: Music
5: Blogging
6: Twitter
7: Blogging
8: Online
9: Selling
We could stop after any question if time is restricted.
I was to search for a website I found a while ago which gave examples of bogus emails/websites etc. I can't find the one I was looking for but I found this: http://www.pnl.gov/coginformatics/showcase/simulation/phishing/phishing.html
This shows an example of a phishy email; it gives you the chance to look for clues until you click 'reveal' when it highlights the clues. I will continue to look tomorrow for the others!

Round 1 and rules.
I wanted to elaborate on the ideas that Radley and I had earlier because during discussions we realised just how difficult it was to make the rules as they are so complex. You have to cover every angle especially if it is a pilot episode with lack of experience and the outcome relies on most of the information on the day.
Radley and I tested questions on each other to see how we would answer and I think we surprised even ourselves.
The terms & conditions quick scroll with 'agree' would decide the players, 'disagree' would decide the audience with control over the players. The first round would be an introduction to the players as you have on gameshows where the host asks a few questions about each contestant. During this stage they would be unaware that this is all part of round 1. The players who reveal the least information about themselves would then pass to the following round. If we stumble across the problem that everyone could answer the questions in the same way, the host could then decide who appears more chatty and confident and probe them further into releasing more information about themselves which would then in turn make it clearer for the audience to decide who passes and who fails. We could then give out virus stickers depending on how people feel about this. We had thought of starting the game with ten players and whittling down to five but I don't think it really matters at this stage in case the rounds change.

email address given, I lose!
Just thought this may be of interest;
I made a phone call earlier to book a ticket. I wanted to book by phone so my details are restricted compared to booking on the internet. The rep asked for my email address. I try to avoid wherever possible giving out my email so I asked if it was necessary. The rep said that I had to give my email to register as you can only purchase tickets by registering. However when I asked him what would happen if someone phoned to book tickets and they didn't have an email address, he said they could sell tickets! This proves that he was lying to me as you don't need to register to buy. He said I wouldn't receive marketing materials so what will they do with my email?? hmm! Maybe I should make a live complaint/inquiry onstage :)

Other groups ideas for the game round
Group round: Radley&Bronya
Select 10 audience to start with and narrow it to 5; starting asking questions about them e.g. Whats your name? Where do you live? ......see who gives the less info. The 5 people with less info will go through the next round
First round is mainly to get people's personality see how easy it is to get into out of them....
Group round: steve
Pick the partner - several photos of the member of the cast or audience; each photo is with a different person, only one photo is with genuine partner. The task of the contestants is to decipher which picture is true. Each contestant that gets the answer right Automatically goes through to the next round, with each correct answer a picture gets dropped. The game ends only two picture remain; therefore one contestant must get it right and the other gets it wrong. 3 contestant go through the next round.
Group round: everyone's input
While the questions are being asked have people around the room with laptops and with the info given by the contestants try and see what we can find on the Internet about them....which around need to give a strong message .
Get the audience to take part on the questions, if they say no then we can say you have to because you agreed to the terms&conditions.

One of the ideas for a game round
Game round: Cat& Samantha
Status with blanks in; audience/ game contestants guess the missing blanks and put them in order of the most revealing and dangerous in terms of how much info is given!
Have questions about Facebook terms& conditions; have multiple choice of a possible answer, none of the answers listed are correct yet the audience will probably pick one without knowing that none of the answer are right. This show that many people don't read or take into consideration of what the term&condition say.
Have the statistics for example' 98%of people don't ( blank)' the contestants have to guess what goes in the blank if answer is not guessed host will tell the contestants; this all leads to the terms&conditions.
Transmedia show- list of jobs
Hey guys, so this is the list of jobs that we came up so far. Please feel free to comment to say where you are interested on working on!
Well done everyone, I'm really proud of us as a group. The amount of ideas that we came up with is huge we have so much material to work with.

Transmedia feedback
Thank you too!
The talks were interesting and working in groups throughout each day broke up the monotony of sitting and listening the whole time, not to say that I was bored but it is good to keep concentration and enthusiasm levels up. Forcing us to work in different groups also helped us to get to know each other rather than leaving us to our own devices. Also working in groups helped to see other's perspective which you may not get if you just exchanged small talk.
Learning about transmedia has really helped to see where the future lies and has broadened my mind although I will never be an internet fan and this may push me further into rebelling against the whole thing.
This isn't a complaint but a comment; I'm not a lover of academic work but aknowledge I have chosen to do this course. I'd like to have more practical work included (and assessed on) and maybe have it integrated more with discussions. We've gone a long time with no physical work and sitting all day is unhealthy and especially as we've been told several times that actors should keep fit, not discuss ideas too long sitting down.
Back to transmedia; I've yet again been very vocal and usually I have complete ideas to offer. Throughout the last week my lack of knowledge on the subject has prevented me seeing past certain points so I get stuck which means that I have to rely on others to fill in the blanks (I don't like the use of 'rely' here). It is difficult to work on a project that you only understand a percentage of; on the bright side hoping that others understand what you don't and hoping they have suggestions, the work and creativity will be more evenly spread out in the team!
Joe said don't use "interesting" so, I look forward to the end result!

Transmedia Week.
Thank you to you all for embracing this new project and welcoming tutors and peers. A little too close to it to evaluate it at the moment as an event so i would welcome your feedback. I just wanted to say thank you, you have been great to work with and though obviously it was not for everyone i hope that you see the value in learning to work in new ways and media. Mark very impressed with you all as was I with your generosity, creativity and commitment.
Have a great weekend.
