Here is Paige and my video of our concept for our unit 5 performance. This is not like the final product that we are aiming for, but the principle is the same!
Some questions that we would like you to answer in the form of a comment on this post please?

- How did it make you feel?
- Did you understand the story?
- If we hadn't have told you, could you tell which fairy tale it is derived from?
- Who do you think our target audience was for the story, taking into account the language used?
- Would you describe it as contemporary or traditional in it's style and language?

Thanks people, much appreciated!

Paige and George :-)

  1. 1. It made me feel somewhat unnerved initially, at first. Eventually, I became more used to the tone of your voices.

    2. Yes, I believe that I understood the story.

    3. I think there a certainly strong elements of the 'Hansel & Gretel' fairy tale in there, but it's also different enough to make quite separate.

    4. I thought that overall tone of the piece, although using more childish and simple vocabulary, made it aimed at teenagers or older children at least.

    5. I would say that it was contemporary in both its style and language.

i think so, but wouldnt know what other sources you were using.

another question; should the text be as naturalistic? to contrast the style? or should it also be disengaged, disintigrating, fragmented?

  4. That video is amazing! They talk so fast yet you understand what they are saying and they never blink, the editing is superb!

  5. We wanted the contrast between the original text edited and the way we were delivering it. We are going to just have our faces, whilst George talks, it would show my face and whilst I talk, it would show his face, etc... I really like the Samuel Beckett play and I would definately like to expand on our idea with some inspiration from that play. We were going to have dark comedy, having the witch wanting to eat us but we get too fat and can't fit in the pots.

  7. I'm in total agreement with Paige, that play is stunningly good! Again, I agree that we certainly should include some aspects of Beckett's ideas. I can also see how ours is connected too!
With regard to the feedback answers to the questions we asked, everyone said pretty much what we had aimed for, bar the target audience, which we will either make clearer or change according to the audience's interpretation.
