Regarding Silks, the session was really great, from what I gathered from the people in my my group we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The only negative was that it hurt a bit after a while, the only was to counteract this is to do it more regularly. After speak to some of the guy in the group, I think that there is an overwhelming agreement that we would all like to do it much more regularly.
Is that possible V?

thanks Steve, can we hear from more people about silks please?
ReplyDeleteWell, as one of the few people who has never participated in the Silks sessions, there's not much I can offer to the conversation. I won't go forward in slight corrections for Steve that there's an 'overwhelming agreement that we'd all like to do it much more regularly', but I can see the appeal that everyone else has for it.
ReplyDeleteMy own reasons for non-participation have varied partially between each session, but a core motive behind it is my own personal fear of heights in which I am the sole power control my height and, therefore, my own well-being. Whilst I'm hoping to try and proceed towards overcoming this fear, it's quite strong and difficult to challenge.
I would say that for those who may have found it painful after the silks session, much like with any work-out, you'd need to stretch afterwards - remember the sessions we've had with Ryan that were physically tiring and we were all aching afterwards? We needed to stretch properly afterwards to try and reduce the aftermath pain.
I'd like to add a comment here. I was absolutely gutted I couldn't join in for the last session and the only reason for me was physical injury otherwise I would have made the most of every minute!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to do more sessions although I am in agony after and need about 2 weeks to fully recover. I do all the stretches and the correct warm ups, it is just so physically demanding especially with pre existing injuries and I accept my own setbacks. The only thing I would suggest is split a day with two groups which we have previously done and also have a lot of physical workouts leading up to a silks session.
For those who do not wish to participate I would hope that something could be found to occupy the time. If an alternative session was offered then I personally feel I would be missing out. When I missed the last session I luckily had plenty of my own work to be getting on with.
Alex I would be happy to help in any way with trying to overcome a fear of heights and I'm completely serious. A friend of mine had a fear of heights and going upside down so I took her on bungy ball!! but I should probably continue this paragraph somewhere else. Think about it anyway.
